| Contents | The Ophthalmology course will be held in the recapitulation of the antomy and physiology of the eye to address the most important eye diseases |

| Course objectives | The aim of the course in Ophthalmology is to allow students of the School of Medicine and Surgery to acquire the theoretical, scientific and professional knowledge in the field of anatomy, pathophysiology, clinical practice, diagnostics and therapy for eye diseases. |
| Prerequisites | knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the eye |
| Teaching methods | The students will receive regular lectures in classroom that will initially focus on the anatomy and physiology of the eye and subsequently on the diagnosis and treatment of the most important ocular diseases. |
| Evaluation methods | To assess the knowledge acquired during the ophthalmology course, students will take an oral exam focusing on the topics covered in class. Questions focus on the diagnosis and treatment of major ocular diseases. Students must be able to discuss the topic and connect and analyze the various subjects. Furthermore, students must have a basic understanding of the general concepts of ocular physiology and pathophysiology. |
