    Course objectives

    Gain knowledge on:
    1) notes on the functional anatomy of the SN; 2) symptoms and signs of SN pathology;
    3) notes on the diagnostic methods used in neurology;
    4) notes on the main pathologies of the SN;
    5) nursing care for neurological patients

    Prerequisites

    Principles of: biology, pathology, anatomy and physiology of the Nervous System; nursing care

    Assessment methods

    Students’ competence will be assessed through an oral examination. The neurology questions will cover the basic aspects of the main neurological disorders, their clinical presentation, the diagnostic process, and the fundamental elements of treatment.
    The final grade will be assigned based on the level of preparation demonstrated during the oral examination and will be expressed on a 30-point scale, where 18 is the minimum passing score and 30 is the maximum.

    1. Cellular and anatomical organization of the CNS
    2. Cerebral hemispheres + Meninges
    3. Brainstem
    4. Cerebellum
    5. Spinal Cord
    6. Peripheral nervous system, neuromuscular plate, autonomic nervous system
    7. Motor system (+ syndromes) and movement disorders
    8. Somato-sensory and sensorial system (+ syndromes)
    9. Cognitive functions, memory (+ syndromes)
    10. Diagnostic procedures (Anamnesis, Neurological examination, neuropsychological evaluation, diagnostic spinal centesis, EEG, ENMG, PE, CT, MRI)
